Brief: Alden Marin makes faces out of fallen twigs, leaves and stones inside of a cave.
Description: ON SEPTEMBER 18TH, 2016 the Daniel Rolnik Foundation presented Project 0001 /// code name: "Leaf Faces" /// with the artist ALDEN MARIN.
Detail: Every morning at 6am, the artist Alden Marin goes on a hike - creating faces out of fallen twigs, leaves and stones along his trail. These faces only exist as long as the wind will allow them to, after which they are swept away into nature's random order. Leaving only a single photograph, taken by the artist, to prove that they were ever there at all. It was only by serendipity that you would come across one of Alden Marin's 'leaf faces' in person. But now, thanks to the Daniel Rolnik Foundation, you have the opportunity to experience the full cycle of a leaf face's inception, life, and passing in the company of interesting characters with many stories to share. You can come by at any time during this action and stay for however long you like. There will be no commercial component on September 18th - i.e. you cannot buy anything at the action. Instead, if you would like to support this project or future ones like it, you have the choice to donate to the Daniel Rolnik Foundation or buy goods online. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to see an Alden Marin creation in person, sheltered from the wind by a natural cave.
